2026 11/04 | Making a simple HTML website
Recently, I've been inspired by small websites like the following: I find that it is easy for me to get in my head about how I present myself.
But for my own personal website, it is mine, of course. I think the simplier the better.
Taking up this task—Making an HTML website without worrying about the end product, was a simple joy that I haven't felt in a while.

I tried using AI to help me make a website, but I didn't feel good using it. It wasn't really my website if I just had a random agent spit something out for me.
Then, I also tried using RocketCake. It was fine and easier, but I still wasn't very satisfied. I do still recommend it though!

On the topic of AI, it cannot be ignored. Most of my peers work with AI. To feel like I was keeping up, I did too.
But I don't inherently feel a desire to use it. I like to learn without it.

It is really useful, and I've found AI to be a valuable tool, but many people use it irresponsibly, and it's lazy.
I get bored of seeing the same way of speaking and the same UI and the same presentations from the same AI models.
Making my website, I was sick of knowing what was meant to be "mine" was completely generated. It didn't feel like me.

I don't disavow every use of AI, but for me, in my personal life and what I personally like to do, there is little use for it, at least in things I'm super passionate about anyway.
So most of what I make on my own time you will see little to no AI involved.
Western culture emphasizes innovation and progress. However, this definition of "innovation" isn't always beneficial or compatiable with the human aspect.

AI will not replace me.

And maybe the first step is having the humility to make a website from scratch slowly, instead of feeling like I needed a completely set up website from the jump.
